Para comprender las experiencias de emprendimiento social femenino desde la perspectiva del desarrollo regional, la investigación analiza las experiencias en los estados del noreste brasileño caracterizados como emprendimiento social femenino. La investigación, de carácter documental y exploratorio, recogió datos de 18 experiencias en sitios web gubernamentales. A través de una tabla comparativa, se concretaron los aportes de las respectivas acciones, lo que permitió comprender su naturaleza, actores involucrados y ejecución. Entre las experiencias, destacan las desarrolladas en los centros penitenciarios con miras a la resocialización, en áreas de vulnerabilidad social, con capacitación e incentivo a la generación de ingresos. También se consideró la demarcación conceptual que engloba el emprendimiento social femenino y su relación con la promoción / estimulación de políticas públicas y el desarrollo regional. Por tanto, los resultados muestran debilidades en torno a las concepciones del emprendimiento social femenino, así como el impacto social y la mejora en la calidad de vida de las experiencias. Como visión de la investigación, se infirieron los elementos de relevancia teórica y práctica del emprendimiento social femenino, tales como: el tercer sector como motor impulsor de estas acciones, el networking, las políticas públicas para promover / fortalecer el protagonismo femenino y la innovación social.
