Five new species of Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera Heteromera) are described from South America and the West Indies: T richoton comaparensis from Comarapa, Bolivia, Diastolinus klapperichi from Boca Chica, Diastolinus hispaniolensis from Palmar de Ocoa, Diastolinus domingoensis from Bani all from the Dominican Republic and Penichrus nanus from Curapao, Venezuela.
Some new species of the coleopterous family Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera Heteromera) collected in Venezuda and Northern Argentina (South America) are described, namdy: Rhypasma bordoni, Aemymone bordoni, Aemymone silvanae, Paratenetus huequensis, Paratenetus bordoni, Cyrtosoma cuyaguensis and Para/ore/opsis bordoni. All of them are from Venezuela, except Aemymone silvanae, collected in Northern Argentina. For each species the rdationships with allied species are indicated, together with the geographical distribution and the ecological characteristics of the inhabited zone. Some comments are made about the effect of isolation on the evolution of some species. The lack of thorough collections and researches in Venezuda is emphasized.
