Objetivou-se estudar as curvas de embebição das sementes a fim de determinar se o tegumento funciona como barreira para a absorção de água prejudicando o processo de germinação. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, conduzidos com quatro repetições de 25 sementes retiradas de frutos maduros de cinco espécies de Passifloras, sendo P. edulis f. flavicarpa, P. edulis Sims, P. alata Curtis, P. alata spp, P. mucronata Lam. Foram utilizados dois tratamentos: T0 semente integra T1 semente com tegumento incisado na lateral. As sementes foram pesadas antes da imersão em água, e após em intervalos de uma hora até as primeiras 09 horas, após a cada 24 horas, finalizando com 240 horas de análise. Os resultados foram expressos em porcentagens. Nas sementes incisadas, foi observado que o ganho de água ocorreu com maior velocidade nas primeiras horas, sendo que essas sementes tiveram um aumento médio de 18,8 a 37,5% quando comparadas ao início da do processo de embebição e nas sementes integras média de 12,2 a 26,7%. Sementes de Passifloras, seguem o padrão trifásico de absorção de água, sendo a fase I compreendida entre zero e 20 horas, a fase II entre 20 e 180 horas e a fase III foi observada apenas em P. edulis Sims com 220 horas. Conclui-se que a velocidade de germinação das sementes é influenciada positivamente pela incisão, evidenciando sua dormência fisiológica.

A Moringa oleifera Lam (moringaceae) é uma planta originaria da índia, sendo muito cultivada atualmente na América Central e em partes da África. Possui uma grande capacidade de uso medicinal pelo seu alto valor nutricional. Este trabalho teve como objetivo realizar a coleta de genótipos de Moringa oleifera em cidades dos estados do Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais e Piauí. Sendo mapeados 22 acessos de Moringa. Foram obtidos 20 genótipos no Espirito Santo, as características avaliadas foram altura e diâmetro da planta, comprimento da folha e comprimento do pecíolo. Com os resultados obtidos neste trabalho foi possível concluir que as características altura e diâmetro da planta, no período em que foram avaliados, não possibilitaram a distinção entre os genótipos de Moringa oleífera estudados. Para as avaliações relacionadas as folhas, não foi possível observar diferença entre os genótipos.
