<p><span>Se aplicó compost para la inducción de la sucesión vegetal en un área afectada por minería a cielo abierto en la microcuenca del río La Vega. En un diseño experimental completamente aleatorizado se establecieron tres tratamientos en parcelas de 25 m</span><sup>2 </sup><span>usando sustrato estéril y compost en las siguientes proporciones: T</span><sub>1</sub><span>: 8:1; T</span><sub>2</sub><span>: 4:1; T</span><sub>3</sub><span>: 2:1 y un control (T</span><sub>4</sub><span>, sin compost). En cada parcela se siguió la sucesión durante nueve meses, se calcularon los índices de diversidad de Shannon, Simpson y riqueza específica, y se elaboraron ANOVAS de medidas repetidas y análisis de componentes principales para los tratamientos y el control. En total se registraron 15 especies, cinco de ellas de la familia Asteraceae. El análisis de varianza mostró que no existieron diferencias significativas (p=0.24) con respecto a la cobertura, pero sí con respecto a la altura (p=0.0001) entre los tratamientos, y que T</span><sub>3</sub><span> fue el que presentó la mejor respuesta, representada en mayor riqueza específica y diversidad en relación con los demás tratamientos y el control al final del seguimiento.</span></p>
