El presente artículo tiene por objetivo identificar los principales hallazgos que se han obtenido a raíz de las investigaciones sobre la gobernanza en los sistemas públicos y políticas públicas de salud mental en el mundo durante los años 2013 al 2020, publicadas en las bases de datos Elsevier, EBSCO host, PubMed, PsycINFO, así como identificar las utilidades del enfoque y los retos que implican para crear mejores modelos para la atención a la salud mental a nivel global.
El presente artículo expone el desarrollo histórico de la Psicología Política en el mundo, Latinoamérica y México, para visualizar la evolución que esta psicología ha tenido desde sus inicios hasta los días recientes, de igual forma, se abordan los conceptos teóricos fundamentales que permiten una mayor comprensión de la relación que existe entre ellos. La Psicología Política ha abierto líneas de investigación que orientan hacia el estudio de los individuos y colectivos en su carácter político, e identifican de forma directa las causales en el comportamiento político. Particularmente, en este artículo se describen los avances de esta disciplina en México, a través de la revisión de publicaciones especializadas, con base en las cuales conocemos los principales temas abordados durante las últimas décadas, así como las agendas pendientes y prospectiva del área en el país. Se obtuvieron resultados de la consulta de bases de datos, revistas, y universidades a nivel nacional, entre otras, por lo cual, el reflejo del material bibliográfico realizado hasta la fecha, permite analizar la congruencia entre el desarrollo del área en el ámbito académico y su producción científica con el fin de poner las miras en priorizar su crecimiento.
