Mit 1 Abbildung P. Parola und A. Bencini haben 1957 ein Modell einer künstlichen Lunge angegeben, das im Vergleich zu anderen bisher entwickelten Oxygenatortypen ein über-raschend geringes Füllvolumen hatte. Griesser berichtete über Versuche mit einem Oxygenator gleichen Typs. Zur Prüfung der Verwendbarkeit dieses Oxygenators waren aber weitergehende Untersuchungen im Tierversuch notwendig. In der folgenden Arbeit wird über einige Änderungen des ursprünglichen Modells und über die Leistungsfähigkeit dieses Oxygenators berichtet. Beschreibung des Oxygenators: Der Oxygenator besteht im Prinzip aus zwei konzentrisch angeordneten Plexiglasröhren (siehe Zeichnung). In dem inneren Rohr von 40 mm Durchmesser und 100 mm Länge befindet sich ein Polyurethan (Moltopren)-Schwamm mittlerer Porengröße (etwa 1 mm Porendurchmesser). Er besitzt an seinem unteren Rand eine ringförmige Erweiterung, mit der er von einer Überwurfmutter aus Plexiglas festgehalten wird. In der Überwurfmutter sind zwei Rohransätze für die Blutzufuhr und ein Metallkopf mit zwei Düsen von 0,2 mm Durchmesser für die Zuführung des Sauerstoffs angebracht. An dem oberen Ende des inneren Plexiglasrohres befindet sich eine runde, horizontal liegende Plexiglasplatte, die das Lumen des Rohres freiläßt und die so groß ist, daß zwischen ihr und dem trichterförmigen Aufsatz des äußeren Rohres ein Spalt von nur 1 mm freibleibt. Dies ist durch einige Abstandsnocken am Außenrand der Platte erreicht. Die Oberflächen dieser Platte und die des Trichters sind mit einem dünnen Film eines Antischaummittels auf Silikonbasis überzogen. Das Heruntergeladen von: University of Pennsylvania Libraries.
