Este artículo presenta un modelo matemático para la ubicación óptima de reconectadores utilizando la técnica de optimización de algoritmos genéticos en sistemas de distribución, considerando la inserción de recursos distribuidos, como los sistemas distribuidos. La metodología incluye la solución del flujo de potencia utilizando el software de código abierto OpenDSS, a través de la interfaz desarrollada por Electric Power Research Institute - EPRI. Los valores de voltajes, corrientes, potencias e indicadores SAIFI/SAIDI se transfieren al software Matlab. El algoritmo de optimización determina las posiciones adecuadas para instalar reconectadores.
La frecuencia y duración de las interrupciones es uno de los temas con mayor importancia entre las empresas distribuidoras en la actualidad, cuyos estudios permiten garantizar el rendimiento del Sistema de Distribución ante fallas aleatorias. En base a este enfoque, se desarrolla el siguiente artículo, mediante el cual se evalúa el rendimiento del Sistema Primario de Distribución (SPD ) ante fallas aleatorias que se presentan en las redes tomando como base una metodología contenida entre el desarrollo de un modelo de confiabilidad enmarcado en la relación de la curva de riesgo (curva de la bañera) y la Probabilidad de Poisson para variables aleatorias discretas, con relación a una planificación a corto plazo (1 año), en adición, se evalúa el tiempo probable de falla del Sistema Primario de Distribución mediante el Método de Monte Carlo. Con lo cual se puede observar que las descargas atmosféricas y efectos ambientales son el principal problema.
