En este artículo se analizan los cambios generacionales en las condiciones objetivas y subjetivas de seguridad laboral. De acuerdo con la bibliografía, al final del siglo xx se incrementó la incertidumbre en esta dimensión, lo que ha afectado a generaciones más jóvenes al impedirles acceder a trabajos decentes y de calidad. Con la Encuesta sobre Inseguridad Laboral 2011 se analizan las trayectorias de inseguridad en el empleo de tres cohortes de trabajadores y trabajadoras de Nuevo León. Se construyen clústeres para conocer los tipos de inseguridad laboral a lo largo del curso de vida. Por último, se realiza una regresión logística para conocer qué características sociales influyen, en cada cohorte, para pertenecer al clúster con trayectorias laborales más inseguras. Así se prueba la hipótesis: ha ocurrido un incremento de la inseguridad e incertidumbre laboral objetiva y subjetiva para las generaciones más jóvenes. Los resultados aportan al debate sobre riesgo e incertidumbre en el curso de vida, pues aunque las condiciones objetivas se han deteriorado conforme observamoscohortes más jóvenes, las condicio- nes subjetivas no lo han hecho.
