ResumoA fratura por fadiga é a forma mais comum de falha estrutural e, atualmente, é um problema desafiador no projeto de componentes mecânicos. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi modelar matematicamente as curvas de crescimento de trinca por fadiga em função do fator de intensidade de tensão de uma junta de aço 1016 obtida pelo processo de soldagem GMAW. Os resultados obtidos no estágio II da curva de propagação de trinca por fadiga mostraram que o material respeita a equação de Paris para solicitação no sentido longitudinal. No entanto, verificou-se uma correlação linear entre os parâmetros. Esta correlação deixa de existir quando se trabalha com o modelo de Bergner. Não houve variação no crescimento de trinca por fadiga na direção TL, analisado segundo o modelo de Bergner e na região fundida. Palavras-chave:Aço ABNT 1016, laminado á quente; Soldagem GMAW.
FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH BEHAVIOR OF 1016 STEEL OBTAINED BY GMAW PROCESS AbstractThe fatigue fracture is the most common type of structural failure and through the years it has been a challenging problem. The objective of this research was determinate the mathematical expressions for the fatigue crack growth versus the stress-intensity factor in the welded joint of 1016 steel obtained through welding process GMAW. The results obtained showed that the stage II of the fatigue crack growth test of the material obeys the Paris law for longitudinal direction. However, a linear correlation between the parameters C and m was verified. This correlation between doesn't exist when working with Bergner's model. There was no variation on the fatigue crack growth by fatigue in the direction TL, analyzed according to Bergner's model and in welding steel area.
A software SIMFOT has been used to generate isochromatics for some birefringent models. It was improved in order to simulate isochromatics in an infmite plate with a single elliptical hole. Stresses are applied at far boundaries of this plate in the direction of the ellipse minor axis. This minor dimension can be changed as necessary to approximate a line crack by a thin elliptical hole. Images from this plate are compared with images from a infinite plate with a single circular hole and presents good agreement when the relation minor axis I major axis approaches one. Formulas for the whole stress field in a direct way to be implemented in computer are presented in this paper.
