Objetivo: Identificar los conocimientos ecológicos tradicionales sobre hongos comestibles silvestres que poseen los recolectores de una comunidad indígena en el centro de México, así como su aprovechamiento.
Diseño, metodología y aproximación: Se llevó a cabo un estudio de caso simple con enfoque cualitativo, desde la perspectiva etnometodológica.
Resultados: Los Conocimientos Ecológicos Tradicionales que poseen los recolectores matlatzincas se encuentran depositados en sólo algunas personas, por lo que corren el riesgo de perderse en el tiempo.
Limitaciones e implicaciones: El trabajo únicamente considera la perspectiva de los recolectores por lo que es necesario incorporar los puntos de vista de otros actores locales y externos con incidencia en el territorio.
Hallazgos y conclusiones: Los recolectores de hongos comestibles silvestres poseen los Conocimientos Ecológicos Tradicionales necesarios para su recolección y aprovechamiento culinario, lo cual contribuye a la economía familiar, sin embargo, es necesario tomar medidas para evitar la pérdida de dichos conocimientos.
