<p><span>En este artículo analizo un fenómeno comunicacional que puede entenderse como un prolegómeno del escándalo político que desembocó en la renuncia, el 9 de setiembre de 2017, del hasta ese momento vicepresidente de la República Oriental del Uruguay, Raúl Sendic Rodríguez. Este implicó la mediatización de un rumor que involucraba a este político, cuando se especulaba en octubre de 2013 con su posible candidatura a la vicepresidencia de Uruguay por el Frente Amplio. Para analizarlo utilizo el dispositivo propuesto por Carlón (2020) para estudiar la circulación del sentido e incorporo conceptos de la teoría del escándalo político de Thompson (2001). Indago así los procesos de “circulación vertical-horizontal” y “transversal del sentido” (Carlón, 2020) de este fenómeno que casi desencadena un “escándalo político de naturaleza sexual” (Thompson, 2001). Complementariamente empleo una perspectiva que busca vincular la teoría del imaginario social de Castoriadis (2013) y la semiótica triádica de Peirce (1931-1958), e incluyo asimismo elementos teóricos relacionados al estudio del imaginario social uruguayo. Concluyo que este rumor fue neutralizado a partir de </span><span>«</span><span>estrategias simbólicas mesocráticas</span><span>»</span><span> en consonancia con el “imaginario efectivo” (Castoriadis, 2013) uruguayo. Además destaco que el proceso de mediatización adoptó formas transgresoras con respecto a los signos simbólicos instituidos del imaginario social uruguayo, aunque se enmarcó dentro de la modalidad imperante del periodismo político en este país, el “periodismo de declaración” (Schuliaquer, 2022, 2019). Esto, sumado a la ausencia de pruebas indiciales, prácticamente le dio cierre simbólico a este rumor el mismo día que se lo mediatizó.</span></p>
No artigo analisamos os signos informativos da televisão aberta uruguaia durante o período que vai da declaração da “emergência sanitária” do 13 de março de 2020 a novembro desse mesmo ano. Consideram-se os frequentes signos dedicados ao anúncio do desastre iminente no discurso midiático dos telejornais, alternados esporadicamente com acontecimentos cobertos sob a modalidade narrativa épica - com foco em aspectos subjetivos e individuais -, bem como a convergência permanente da voz governamental com a voz da mídia. A partir desse copioso discurso, analisam-se as conferências do Poder Executivo em redes de televisão de fato (ou seja, não oficialmente apresentadas como tal, mas análogas em seu funcionamento e convergência midiática), muito frequentes no período, com a teoria dos “acontecimentos midiáticos ” (Dayan e Katz, 1995), embora as conferências não se encaixem bem com esse conceito. Assim, constatou-se que, consideradas como uma variante das “cerimônias midiáticas transformadoras” (Dayan e Katz, 1995), essas conferências de imprensa invocaram mitos centrais do Uruguai moderno a fim de reforçar os valores estabelecidos, contribuir para a integração social e legitimar as autoridades atuais. Foi também a forma de assimilar os eventos novos e incertos relacionados à declarada pandemia SARS-CoV-2 e seus possíveis efeitos locais dentro dos limites do “imaginário social” uruguaio (Castoriadis, 2013).
En esta entrevista al investigador argentino Mario Carlón se dialoga sobre diversos asuntos vinculados a la circulación del sentido en las sociedades contemporáneas, línea de investigación en la que viene trabajando desde hace varios años. Algunos temas que se tratan son los principales aportes de su reciente libro, Circulación del sentido y construcción de colectivos en una sociedad hipermediatizada (Nueva Editorial Universitaria, 2020); los desafíos analíticos derivados de la presencia de diversos sistemas mediáticos (medios masivos, redes sociales mediáticas, sistema underground) en las sociedades actuales, hipermediatizadas, en las que existen asimismo múltiples enunciadores, tanto individuales como colectivos, con una gran e inédita producción de contenidos; la influencia de Eliseo Verón en su obra; su reflexión acerca de la influencia del pensamiento peirceano en América Latina; el fenómeno de la polarización en sociedades que se caracterizan por la circulación del sentido como diferencia, entre otros temas. A través de esta entrevista se busca contribuir al diálogo informado y el intercambio constructivo en el campo de los estudios de la comunicación.
