Depuis les premiers écrits de Pinel sur la manie sans délire jusqu’aux recherches les plus récentes, la dangerosité des sujets psychotiques semble être une donnée admise, qui s’est imposée dans la littérature spécialisée. Pour probants que soient les résultats des études épidémiologiques et statistiques sur la violence des malades mentaux, elles ne peuvent suffire à un abord clinique des passages à l’acte meurtriers ou tentatives commis par des sujets psychotiques. En effet, les facteurs prédictifs de violence ne permettent pas de dégager la logique subjective sous-tendant les passages à l’acte criminels dans la clinique des psychoses, ni les fonctions psychiques qu’ils viennent remplir. Cerner les coordonnées de l’acte, ainsi que le réel auquel le sujet fut confronté, contribue à saisir la logique singulière du sujet, mais, également, à aider le clinicien à s’orienter dans la direction de la cure, ainsi que nous le montrerons grâce aux cas de Louis et de Marc.
