Isobutyl and trifluoro cyanoacrylates showed varying degrees of inhibition for Lactobacillus casei and Staphylococcus aureus when tested by the spread plate technique. Candida albicans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were resistant. The results tend to support the view that inhibition of growth was due to the vapor effect and not the diffusibility of the cyanoacrylates.
The content of the free adenine nucleotides, of pyruvic acid, of citric acid and the oxygen consumption after inhibition with KCN were determined in bovine lenses and compared with normal values. Production of la Energy metabolism belled CO2 was measured after addition of14C-6-glucose to the medium. The obtained data seem to confirm a 3 % participation of citric acid cycle in total glucose breakdown.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
