For temporary elevator planning, optimization with metaheuristic algorithms is an effective approach. Existing temporary elevator planning is rarely conducted from a spatio-temporal perspective. This research proposes a spatio-temporal planning model with a genetic algorithm to address this deficiency. The experiment test results show that the total cost of the optimized solution is reduced by 37.48% compared to the initial solution. The proposed model solves the limitation that the service day and floor of temporary elevators are planned separately, which, when considered simultaneously, help reduce the cost of temporary elevators.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
