A new alkaloid, cycloshermilamine D, was isolated from the marine tunicate Cystodytes violatinctus, and its structure (1), which is closely related to shermilamine D, was established mainly on the basis of NMR spectroscopic data.
Haliclorensin (1), a novel diamino alkaloid possessing an azacyclodecane ring, has been isolated from the sponge Haliclona tulearensis. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data, as well as by comparison with gamma-amino azacycloalkanes.
Four new tetraprenyltoluquinols
(2−5) have been isolated from the Indo-Pacific
soft corals
Sinularia dura and Nephthea sp. Sindurol
(2), isolated from the Sinularia, is a
1,3,5-trialkylated 2,8-dioxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane, and nephthoside
(4), obtained from the Nephthea,
is a new substituted hydroquinone d-arabinose glycoside.
Compounds 3 and 5 are closely
related
to nephthoside (4). The structure determination of all
new compounds was based mainly on
1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, as well as some
chemical transformations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
