Medicine adherence among patients is crucial to ensure the effectiveness of a given treatment. Failure to take a medication of the right dosage, at the right time causes minor healthcare problems to become worse. This is extremely problematic for the elderly patients who have difficulties in keeping track of their medicine. Therefore, to address this issue, M3DITRACK3R, an automated medicine dispenser which keeps track of the dosage and duration between each consumption, autonomously navigate to the patient and dispensing the medicines to the patient is proposed. This innovative prototype is able to detect its patient using sensing technology. Number of touch detected by the touch sensor is used to set the number of hours in each loop. M3DITRACK3R then navigates to find the patient using the infrared sensor to dispense the right dosage of medicine at the right time. It is a perfect solution for senior citizens living independently.
Many programs face the problem of building a single product that mushrooms into new versions or additional products. Requirements reuse can be a tremendous time and cost saver, but only if other essential information is retained when the original requirements are written.The Simplified Aid for EVA Rescue (SAFER) began as a flight test unit that was flown as a Detailed Test Objective (DTO) on Space Shuttle Mission STS-64 in September 1994. The SAFER proved its usefulness as an astronaut maneuvering unit and was approved for production immediately after the flight. This paper details the requirements management process used by SAFER and discusses the changes required to go, not just to production, but also to an intermediate version of the product. The SAFER project used Compliance Automation Inc.'s Document Director requirements management tool for the DTO and transitioned to VITAL LINK, the Window's version of the tool for subsequent products.
