Ridlärarrollen från dåtid till samtid med perspektiv på framtid Syftet med denna avhandling är att identifiera och synliggöra uppfattningar om ridlärarrollen och dess historiska och samtida villkor som styr och påverkar denna roll. Konstruktioner av upplevelser och erfarenheter har varit centrala för samtliga studier. Ridlärarrollen har studerats från flera perspektiv med fokus på dåtid och samtid för att bringa mer kunskap och förståelse om dess funktion och konstruktion inför framtid. Från ett historiskt perspektiv har stallbackskulturens institutionella arrangemang analyserats. Resultatet förklarar varför ridskolor fortfarande präglas av stallbackskultur med militära normer. Från ett samtida perspektiv har ridlärarrollen belysts och visat på hur rollen upplevts förändras utifrån ekonomiska utmaningar samt hur dessa utmaningar har påverkat ridlärares sätt att undervisa och skapa verksamhet. Därtill har unga ryttares upplevelser av ridskola studerats. Resultatet synliggör att det har skett en viss förändring av stallbackskulturen, där nu kommunikativa processer utgör en central del i det sociala samspelet som ligger till grund för lärande och utveckling. Med perspektiv på framtid kan ridlärare stärka sin profession och utveckla ridskolan till ett vidare kunskapsoch resurscentrum genom att medvetandegöra tre faktorer; den rådande stallbackskulturen, hur lärande sker i verksamheten och vilket behov som finns av kompetensutveckling.

Hon arbetar också för Svenska Ridsportförbundet med att ta fram utbildningsmaterial. Hennes intresseområde är ridsport samt barn-och ungdomsidrott.
