Este artigo visa apresentar a experiência de docentes e discentes do curso de medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) no seu contato com a arte antes e durante o isolamento social determinado pela pandemia do COVID-19, através do projeto Arte na Veia - UFRJ. Evidenciamos as diferenças na participação dos alunos nesses dois momentos contrastantes, assim como as plataformas usadas para adaptar reuniões digitais e os desdobramentos da iniciativa, tais quais a página na plataforma Instagram, o Clube do Livro e o Cinedebate. Abordou-se a prática da medicina narrativa e da arte enquanto ação terapêutica, especialmente relacionada à saúde mental - de alunos da graduação médica e seus pacientes. Buscamos revelar a importância do conhecimento artístico aliado a educação médica como estratégia de desenvolvimento das humanidades.
