Con el objetivo de estudiar los memes de Internet con contenido político se recurre a un Análisis de Contenido con base en un modelo de dimensiones meméticas compuestas por los tres niveles pertenecientes al lenguaje en su forma y contenido; así como a aquello no visible que subyace a las formas de expresión y que generalmente comunica acerca de las coordenadas culturales del sujeto (Contenido, Forma y Estado o Postura). Desde un enfoque metodológico cuantitativo con alcance descriptivo, dicho análisis es aplicado a los memes que surgieron en el periodo de campaña presidencial en México, 2018. Lo anterior permite entender los memes como un producto cultural digital que es creado, difundido y consumido en el marco de estructuras culturales específicas, como lo son la convergencia cultural y mediática, la cultura participativa y los procesos de resemantización de los productos digitales. Este estudio concluye la coexistencia de lenguajes y de fenómenos mediáticos, así como la despolitización del discurso y la presencia predominante de una función comunicativa emotiva en los memes de Internet.
En un contexto social y tecnológico que propicia esquemas de participación política híbrida y en el marco del proceso de Revocación de Mandato en México 2022, se estudia el comportamiento del #RevocaciónDeMandato, con el objetivo de analizar el uso de las redes sociales digitales como espacios de expresión, debate y participación ciudadana desde la perspectiva teórica de la Tecnopolítica. Mediante herramientas de minería de datos, se recuperó el comportamiento general del hashtag, la presencia de emociones, el perfil sociodemográfico de los participantes en la conversación social, así como la participación de medios de comunicación, influencers, figuras públicas, políticos e instituciones.
