Introdução: O comportamento da pandemia de COVID-19 resulta de diversos fatores, tais como características virais, populacionais e emprego de medidas de controle do número de casos. A variedade de tais fatores em cada território é responsável por criar perfis epidemiológicos únicos, o estudo destes perfis é essencial para entender o comportamento da epidemia e planejar medidas de enfrentamento contra a doença. Para tal fim, o estudo atual propõe investigar o perfil das infecções pelo novo coronavírus no município de Parnaíba-PI. Objetivo: Traçar o perfil epidemiológico das infecções por SARS-CoV-2 no município de Parnaíba-PI. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico descritivo secundário, o qual se utilizou de dados coletados através da ficha de notificação de casos de COVID-19, entre os meses de março de 2020 e 2021, não foram incluídos na análise os casos cujo os dados nas fichas de notificação estivessem incompletos. Resultados: Foram incluídos na análise 11.864 casos diagnosticados no período. Conclusão: Os casos analisados foram constituídos principalmente de mulheres, e se apresentaram principalmente em faixas etárias de 20 a 59 anos, com pico de incidência na faixa de 30 a 39 anos. A grande maioria não relatou comorbidades ou situações de risco. Os sintomas mais referidos foram febre, tosse e dor de garganta.
Introdução: Os testes imunológicos para a COVID-19 possuem como grande vantagem a sua rapidez diagnóstica, porém possuem taxa de eficácia variável a depender do fabricante, gerando a necessidade de identificar quais os melhores testes a serem utilizados a fim de evitar falsos diagnósticos. Objetivo: Apontar os testes disponíveis no Brasil que, dentro dos ensaios clínicos buscados, apresentam melhor taxa de eficácia. Métodos: Foram buscados na literatura artigos referentes a ensaios clínicos que testam a eficácia dos testes rápidos para a detecção de imunoglobulinas anti-SARS-COV-2. Para tal fim foi realizada uma busca sistemática nas bases de dados SCIELO, LILACS, PUBMED e MEDLINE utilizando os descritores SARS-COV-2, ELISA, COVID-19 e Avaliação, associados utilizando o operador booleano AND, logo em seguida foram aplicados critérios de inclusão e exclusão para selecionar os trabalhos a serem incluídos na revisão. Resultados: Foram incluídos 16 artigos que testaram 18 dos testes rápidos disponíveis no país. Conclusão: Os testes sorológicos são uma ferramenta de grande valia ao enfrentamento da pandemia do SARS-COV-2, porém não devem ser utilizados como ferramenta única no diagnóstico da infecção viral dado o período de janela imunológica. O emprego ideal dos testes dar-se-á nos casos em que o paciente já apresenta mais de 14 dias de sintomas. O teste One Step COVID-2019 da empresa Guangzhou Wondfo Biotech revelou o melhor desempenho dentre os analisados.
Objetivo: analisar as principais afecções neurológicas decorrentes da infecção pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2 (síndrome respiratória aguda grave de coronavírus 2) através de uma revisão integrativa. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo de revisão integrativa da literatura. Para a seleção dos artigos foram usadas duas bases de dados: PUBMED e Scielo, e estabeleceram-se como critérios de inclusão: estudos de relato de caso e estudos clínicos, realizados em seres humanos, disponíveis em inglês, espanhol e português, atribuindo-se o recorte de tempo de 1 ano (2020-2021). A amostra final utilizada nesta revisão foi de 36 artigos. Resultados e discussão: apesar de o alvo principal ser o sistema respiratório humano, o coronavírus apresenta potencial neurotrópico e neuroinvasivo, possuindo capacidade de atingir o sistema nervoso central (SNC). Assim, os estudos mostraram associações entre a infecção por SARS-Cov-2 e a ocorrência de cefaleia, encefalopatia, doença cerebrovascular, hemorragia cerebral, encefalomielite, prejuízo da consciência e delírio, convulsões tônico-clônicas, prejuízos no olfato e no paladar, síndrome de Guillain-Barré, rabdomiólise, doença de Parkinson, Alzheimer e esclerose múltipla. Conclusão: a partir da atual revisão de literatura, infere-se que as taxas de comprometimento neurológico em casos de COVID-19 são significativas e demandam o desenvolvimento de mais estudos sobre o tema.
