Resumen: La escasez de información en relación a la situación de las empresas de comunicación de Ecuador, motivó al Departamento de Ciencias de la Comunicación de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) a desarrollar un mapeo de medios, comunicación, productoras, agencias de publicidad y relaciones públicas del país. La necesidad de disponer de un sitio de consulta y de referencia, respecto a temas de comunicación, es aún latente en Ecuador. Si bien existen algunos aportes, tanto por parte de organismos estatales como de privados, para construir repositorios físicos o virtuales, éstos se han limitado a presentar información básica de contacto y muchas veces desactualizada. Con una muestra de más de 1000 medios se accede a conocer su forma y fondo, en si, su morfología distribuida en organización legal y societaria, situación geográfica, contenidos, alcance, y servicios prestados. La misma, es una aproximación a la realidad informativa que vive el país y que forma parte de la macro investigación denominada "Mapa de la comunicación de Ecuador".Abstract: The paucity of information regarding the status of the communication companies in Ecuador, prompting the Department of Communication Sciences at the Technical University of Loja (UTPL) to develop a mapping of media, communication, production companies, advertising agencies and country's public relations. The need for a site consultation and reference on issues of communication, is still latent in Ecuador. While there are some contributions, both from private agencies as to build physical or virtual repositories, they have simply submit basic contact information and often outdated. With a sample of over 1000 media access know its form and substance, itself, distributed morphology and corporate legal organization, location, content, scope, and services provided. It is an informative approach to reality in the country and is part of the macro research called "Map of Ecuador communication".
El periodismo enfrenta retos que han puesto en peligro su continuidad y la confianza del público. Algunos toman forma por el incremento de las fake news. El objetivo del estudio es conocer la percepción y experiencia de periodistas de la Comunidad Andina, a través de 12 entrevistas en profundidad, con miras a identificar claves para su futuro. Los resultados reflejan que los periodistas se autoperciben como competentes para confrontarlas, y que los mayores retos son: la priorización de contenidos light, la competencia fomentada por el prosumo y las nuevas exigencias laborales. Se concluye que existe una necesidad latente de formación respecto a nuevos modelos de negocio y contenidos periodísticos, junto al desarrollo de políticas empresariales, que permitan fortalecer la profesión.
Abstrtacts[ES] Introducción. La vorágine en la cual se envuelve la información que transita por la autopista de Internet la hace incuantificable. Por ello, para su análisis es preciso delimitar el área; en tal sentido, la difusión de información sobre Ciencia y Tecnología (CyT) a través de Twitter es la premisa de la investigación. Metodología. El estudio pretende dar a conocer la importancia que cobran las redes sociales en el campo de la CyT, y su influencia en los procesos de democratización informativa. Se empleó la técnica de Análisis de Redes Sociales (ARS), la cual permite visualizar a través de grafos cada una de las conexiones y comunidades que estos entes poseen. Resultados. Se analizaron 31 cuentas de organizaciones Iberoamericas que poseen un perfil en la red de microblogging, a fin de conocer qué tipo de información emiten y si cumplen con la función principal: la difusión de CyT proveniente de sus instituciones científicas e investigadores. Conclusiones. Existe un creciente uso de Twitter como fuente de publicación sobre CyT, determinados por indicadores de calidad, cantidad y uso de recursos como: enlaces, imágenes, etc. Se emplea Twitter a medida de las posibilidades del contenido que las instituciones crean; en sí, uso es progresivo; pero su contenido es netamente institucional.[EN] Introduction.
