Anomalias congênitas são alterações fetais que precedem ou sucedem o nascimento e que podem ser reveladas de forma aparente ou não. No Brasil, entre 2013 e 2017, 121.061 nascidos vivos em hospitais nasceram com algum tipo de malformação. Um importante instrumento para analisar a significância desse assunto no país é o Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivos (SINASC). Esse trabalho teve como objetivo identificar e descrever as anomalias congênitas entre os nascidos vivos, durante o período de 2010 a 2019 na cidade de Nanuque, Minas Gerais, a fim de informar à sociedade sobre a prevalência das malformações congênitas, além de permitir evidenciar possíveis atrasos ou falhas na notificação para sistema nacional. A abordagem constituiu em estudo quantitativo descritivo, onde foi realizado um levantamento dos dados disponíveis no SINASC, verificando a quantidade de recém-nascidos com anomalias congênitas e os tipos de malformação existente no município da pesquisa. O levantamento de dados do munícipio demonstrou que do total de 6.267 registros de nascidos vivos, apenas 16 (0,26%) correspondem a casos de anomalia congênitas diagnosticadas, mas 2061 (32,88%) dos nascimentos não possuem informações caracterizadas, alegando uma possibilidade de subnotificações nas informações sobre o assunto. Das anomalias registradas, as com maior frequência no município foram Pé torto eqüinovaro, com 2 casos e a cromossomopatia Síndrome de Down, também com 2 casos registrados. Relatar e listar recorrências de notificação das anomalias congênitas, fornece subsídios para a comunidade e profissionais de saúde para aprimorar assistências voltadas para essas crianças e suas famílias.
