A doença de Alzheimer (DA) é um distúrbio neurodegenerativo progressivo que se caracteriza pela perda de sinapses, de neurônios cerebrais e por depósitos de fibrilas de peptídeos de beta-amilóide-extraneuronais, constituindo as placas senis, formando os emaranhados neurofibrilares. A metodologia consiste em um estudo de natureza descritiva com abordagem bibliográfica e exploratória, através de uma revisão de literatura. O objetivo geral consiste em analisar os aspectos relacionados aos tratamentos alternativos para Doença de Alzheimer (DA), os específicos descrevem os tratamentos com células-tronco (terapia celular), o uso do Canabidiol e fitoterápicos e a discussão sobre a aplicabilidade de tratamentos alternativos para a Doença de Alzheimer. Metodologia aplicada consistem em um estudo de natureza descritiva com abordagem bibliográfica e exploratória, por meio de uma revisão de literatura. Conforme os resultados das pesquisas, os tratamentos alternativos têm tido resultados positivos mediante os estudos realizados com a utilização de substância da Cannabis e a terapia celular (células-tronco) que geraram resultados positivos, os cientistas recomendam cautela, pois a complexidade da Doença de Alzheimer ainda demanda anos de pesquisa.
