O INTRODUÇÃO: A neuromielite óptica é uma doença que atinge principalmente acuidade visual através de neurite óptica e a função medular através da mielite transversa,ocasionando déficit sensitivo motor,inclusive distúrbios esfincterianos.OBJETIVO:Analisar a intervenção fisioterapêutica em um paciente com neuromielite óptica e assim compreender como a fisioterapia urológica pode melhorar a qualidade de vida desse paciente.METODOLOGIA:Foi realizado um estudo de caso da resposta terapêutica no paciente portador de neuromielite óptica.RESULTADOS:O paciente após a eletroestimulação da porção posterior do nervo tibial, a níveis sacrais e terapia comportamental apresentou melhora da urgência miccional, diminuição da frequência miccional e da noctúria. CONCLUSÃO:Observou-se o quanto a fisioterapia urológica contribui para regular a desordem vesico-intestinal e o controle esfincteriano, proporcionando melhor qualidade de vida ao paciente, ressaltando que não há protocolos específicos fisioterapêuticos para a doença de Devic.
