O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender a Experiência Religiosa do Batismo com o Espírito Santo dos cristãos evangélicos pentecostais da Assembleia de Deus. Para tal, utilizou-se à coleta dos dados as técnicas da observação sistemática e do grupo focal, e para o tratamento dos dados recorreu-se a Análise Temática de Conteúdo. Os resultados evidenciaram que o batismo com o Espírito Santo caracteriza-se por uma experiência relacional com Deus, lúcida, porém, que possui as mesmas características que configuram um Estado Alterado de Consciência (EAC), sendo sua crença caracterizada como do tipo “A” e sua veracidade apoiada na Fé, constituindo o papel social do crente batizado em adequar-se como modelo de servo. Concluiu-se que a experiência religiosa do Batismo com o Espírito Santo é vivenciada enquanto um EAC, condicionada e significada pelo sistema de crenças a qual está vinculada: pentecostalismo evangélico, e que tal experiência tem forte repercussão na vida do cristão.
