SYNOPSISHigh molecular weight alternating block copolymers of polyethersulphone ( PES ) and polydimethylsiloxane ( PDMS ) were prepared by the condensation of dimethylamino-terminated PDMS oligomers and hydroxy-terminated PES oligomers in 1,2-dichlorobenzene. Microphase separation of the block copolymers a t exceptionally short block lengths was observed by differential scanning calorimetry ( DSC ) and transmission electron microscopy ( T E M ) . The Si-0-C intersegment linkage in these materials appeared to display poor hydrolytic stability which is contrary to results obtained for other block copolymers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
