Intel-action avec I'acide gibberellique. Can. J . Bot. 57: 561-567. Ochracine was isolated from culture filtrates of Seproricr t~oclorrrtn Berk. (Berk.), a pathogenic fungus of wheat. At concentrations ranging from 25pglmL it inhibited the growth of wheat and rice seedlings and the 'tie trouo' synthesis of a-amylases by the aleurone layers of wheat. These effects were not reversed by increased concentrations of gibberellic acid.Between 2.5 and 10pgIrnL. ochracine exhibited a synergistic effect withexogenous gibberellic acid on the same physiological phenomena. For these last concentrations, the results suggest an increased sensitivity of rice seedlings and wheat aleurone layers to exogenous gibberellic acid as a result of changes in tissue permeability.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
