Die 51 V-NMR-Spektren der zweikernigen, diamagnetischen Vanadium(IV)-Verbindungen werden diskutiert. t BuN = VCl 2´1 ,2-Dimethoxoethane, a Precursor in the Synthesis of Binuclear Diamagnetic tert-Butylimidovanadium(IV) CompoundsAbstract. Syntheses of the paramagnetic tert-butylimidovanadium(IV) complexes t BuN = VCl 2´D ME (7), t BuN = VCl 2´2 L (L = 1,4-dioxane, thf, PMe 3 , PEt 3 , pyridine) and t BuN = VBr 2´D ME are described; the free Lewis acids has been found by mass spectroscopy to be the binuclear compounds [(l-N t Bu) 2 V 2 Cl 4 ] und [(l-N t Bu) 2 V 2 Br 4 ]. 7 reacts with LiOR, LiOAr and LiNR 2 forming binuclear diamagnetic tert-butylimidovanadium(IV) compounds: [(t BuN = V(OAr) 3 has been prepared. All compounds obtained are characterized by spectroscopic methods (MS; 1 H, 13 C, 51 V NMR), [(l-N t Bu) 2 V 2 Cl 2 (N t BuSiMe 3 ) 2 ] (21) by single crystal x-ray diffraction. For 18 the presence of cis/trans isomeres was shown by NMR spectroscopy. The 51 V NMR spectra of the binuclear diamagnetic vanadium (IV) compounds are discussed.
The reactions of tBuN = VCl2 · DME with LiX (X = NHtBu, NR2, OSiPh3, SR, Alkyl, Cp) have been studied. LiNHtBu and LiCH3 furnish the binuclear diamagnetic tert-butylimido-vanadium( IV) compounds [(μ-NtBu)2V2X4]; in all other cases only the vanadium(V) compounds tBuN=VX3 and tBuN=VCpCl2 formed by disproportionation reactions of vanadium(IV) can be isolated. The syntheses of various mononuclear amido tert-butylimido-vanadium(V) complexes as well as of the binuclear complexes [μ-NtBu)2V2(NtBu)2Cl2] and [(μ-0)V2(NtBu)2Cp2Cl2] are also described. All compounds obtained have been characterized by 51V NMR spectroscopy. tBuN=V(OMe)3 was investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis; the molecular structure has been found to be that of a binuclear vanadium(V) complex with two bridging methoxo ligands.
