НирхаусТеория хаоса стала чрезвычайно популярной в 1980-х годах благодаря широкому ис-пользованию некоторых явлений, описанных в трудах Эдварда Н. Лоренца 2 и Бенуа Ман-дельброта 3 , -так называемый «эффект бабочки», самоподобие графически красивых ил-люстраций различных фракталов стали предметом широкого обсуждения не только в на-учной среде. 4 Независимо от того, идет ли речь об изображении формы береговых линий, ответветвлений кровеносных сосудов или о сложном поведении динамических систем, тео-рии хаоса иногда придается значение deus ex machine -она служит моделью объяснения сложных «природных» структур и процессов. Эйфорическое отношение к данной дисци-плине отражено и в названии книги Джеймса Глейка «Хаос: создание новой науки» [1], где автор предсказал смену парадигм в физике под влиянием теории хаоса. Существенные части теории хаоса включают анализ поведения сложных систем, их аттракторов, а также различных форм самоподобных структур, прежде всего фракталов. Для моделирования са-моподобных структур очень хорошо подходят системы Линденмайера (СЛ). Первоначаль-но они были разработаны как формальный язык для описания процесса роста растений и являются эффективным средством создания музыкальной структуры в области алгорит-мической композиции.
