In Abschnitt I wird über Trennung der Pyrolyseprodukte des Si(CH3)4 und Isolierung von bisher nicht erfaßten Verbindungen berichtet.
In Abschnitt II wird mit Hilfe der NMR‐ und Massenspektrometrie der Aufbau der Verbindungen untersucht. Von den 20 isolierten werden 17 erstmals aus der TMS‐Pyrolyse zugänglich, und 13 waren bisher nicht bekannt. Der größte Anteil an Verbindungen mit 4–5 Si‐Atomen sind 1,3,5,7‐Tetrasila‐adamantane bzw. substituierte Derivate. Es werden zwei Derivate des Si6C15H36, drei des Si7C16H36 und das Si8C17H36 isoliert und aufgeklärt.
Neben dem Bauprinzip der Carborundane (SiC‐Sechsringe in Sesselform) erscheinen erstmals Verbindungen mit ausschließlich SiC‐Sechsringen in Bootform (Si‐Scaphane); so das hochsymmetrische Si8C17H36 aus 12 Sechsringen. In einem Isomeren des Si7C16H36 sind beide Bauprinzipien (Sessel‐ und Boot) realisiert.
