To determine the most efficient and beneficial irrigation system, the effect of sprinkler irrigation, surface drip irrigation, subsurface irrigation at 35 cm depth and subsurface irrigation with microporous hose at 15 cm depth on peppermint culture over a four-year period was evaluated. It was found that the highest yield of oil and plant material was obtained when drip surface irrigation or subsurface irrigation using microporous hose was used. Both of these irrigation practices were found to conserve water to a greater extent than the other practices examined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
