The branching ratio (BR) between hypersatellite-and two-electron-one-photon transition is investigated with S-and Cl-ion impact on C1-solid-and Ar-gaseous-target. A strong deviation from the scaling of the BR with the nuclear charge predicted for a constant shell configuration is obtained by comparing the BR of projectile-and target-atoms. This deviation can be explained by a different 2s-ionization of heavy and light collision partner.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
