The vapor‐phase radiation graft polymerization of styrene, methyl methacrylate, and acrylonitrile on surface of dispersed filler (magnesium oxide) was studied. It was established that the polymer graft films are irreversibly chemically bound to the surface, cover it with a discontinuous layer which leaves a part of the surface free from polymer in the form of a mosaic. The grafting modifies the surface and increases the compatibility of filler with the polymer medium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
