Source of materialThe title compound was synthesized by adding a suspension of dimethyl tin(IV) oxide (4 mmol) in EtOH to a solution 2-aminoethanethiol hydrochloride in EtOH in 1:1 molar ratio and stirring the mixture for 6 h at 60 °C. On cooling, colorless crystals of the compound were formed suitable for the structural study (yield 65 %, m.p. 200 °C). Elemental analysis: found -C, 18.8 %; H, 4.9 %; N, 5.3 %; S, 12.0 %; calc. for GiHuClNSSn -C, 18.5 %; H, 4.7 %; N, 5.4 %; S, 12.3 %. In a similar way the bromine analogue was prepared (yield 70 %, m.p. 196 °C).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
