O solo é o recurso natural que sustenta a vida em seus diferentes aspectos, mas ainda é o componente dos ecossistemas memos conhecido e valorizado. A Educação em Solos, indissociável da Educação Ambiental, pode contribuir para a formação cidadã e crítica. É urgente a necessidade de promover a conscientização pedológica, que deve ser trabalhada em sala de aula, em todas as séries, de modo a sensibilizar para a conexão do real significado do solo para a vida no Planeta. A investigação objetivou realizar o levantamento de projetos e atividades relacionadas a Educação Ambiental com ênfase no solo, conduzidos por professores das três escolas de Ensino Médio do município de Monteiro (PB) e verificar a percepção destes sobre o tema em pauta. A metodologia partiu da elaboração de questionário organizado na plataforma Google Forms e enviado via e-mail. Foram enviados um total de 32 questionários, mas devolvidos apenas 16, sendo 46% do gênero masculino, 47% feminino e 7% que não fizeram a identificação. Desse total, 45% tem dedicado mais de 14 anos à sala de aula. Relativo à pesquisa de percepção, verificou-se que apesar de existir uma conscientização significativa sobre a importância do solo e da necessidade de uma abordagem mais eficiente de seus diferentes conteúdos em sala de aula, não foi identificado nenhum projeto conduzido com ênfase no solo e os professores mencionaram que encontram entre as dificuldades a falta de conteúdo didático e capacitação na área. Os professores reconhecem a importância da condução de projetos de Educação Ambiental no Ensino Médio e demonstram disposição nessa demanda, mas alegam dificuldades de logísticas e apoio. Dos participantes da pesquisa 60% já visitaram o Espaço do Solo do CDSA/UFCG, mencionando que essas visitações aprimoram os conhecimentos vistos em sala de aula. Destaca-se o caráter inovador das ações de Educação em Solos desenvolvidas no CDSA/UFCG como suporte às atividades de sala de aula, como as oficinas temáticas e as trilhas pedológicas, que podem ajudar aos alunos a entender um pouco da importância da relação solo-sociedade e de preservar e conservar os solos.
