The article presents the results of studies on the dynamics of wear of five different cutting inserts (for machining difficult-to-cut materials, for finishing cast iron machining, for roughing cast iron machining, for steel machining and for stainless steel machining) during turning a non-homogeneous material such as polymer concrete. Polymer concrete is a difficult-to-cut, anisotropic, composite material. During the tests, a record of the components of the cutting force in real time was made. After each machining pass, the Ra and Rz surface roughness values were measured in the direction perpendicular to the machining marks and photos were taken under the microscope of the inserts corners, on the basis of which the width of major flank wear land and the width of minor flank wear land were measured. The view of each insert after the tests was also presented. Finally, the conclusions about the dynamics of wear of inserts taking part in the study as well as their applicability during polymer concrete turning were formulated.
This paper presents a model of surface grinding with superimposed oscillation of the workpiece. The parameters of the model were experimentally derived and the equations of motions of the system were solved using Matlab. The results obtained showed a significant decrease in the amplitude of the relative vibration between the wheel and workpiece when the oscillation was superimposed onto the feed motion of the workpiece. A range of experimental work was undertaken and the results showed that the vibratory process had a superior performance in absolute terms with reference to conventional grinding. Low forces along with longer tool life were recorded with the added vibration. A notion of dynamic relief was introduced to express the efficiency of the vibratory process.
The article presents the results of the experimental verification of the deep hole boring bar tool model. The aim of the work was to obtain a verified boring bar tool model, which in further scientific research will be a starting point for creating a prototype of a tool with a new design, in which dynamic properties will be improved. The research was divided into two stages. In the first stage, modal studies of the model and the real object were carried out. The obtained discrepancy between numerical and experimental results below 8% allows to state that the model is characterized by dynamic properties occurring in the real boring bar. In the second stage of the research, static tests were carried out. The object was loaded with forces of 98.6 N, 195.0 N, 293.8 N. The obtained slight discrepancy in the results of numerical and experimental tests below 3% allows to state that the model reflects the static properties of the real boring bar. The high convergence of the theoretical and experimental results allows for the conclusion that the numerical model has been verified positively.

Experiments were carried out on a flat grinding machine adapted to vibration assisted grinding process conducted with different parameters. KEYWORDS: vibration assisted grinding, experimental studies, vibratory table holder, effective grinding depth WprowadzenieStruktura geometryczna powierzchni (SGP) obejmuje chropowatość, falistość, błędy kształtu i wady powierzchni. Ostatnią operacją kształtującą SGP funkcjonalnie ważnych elementów maszyn, w większości przypadków, jest obróbka ścierna. Umożliwia ona nadawanie wysokiej dokładności i małej chropowatości powierzchni, niezależnie od twardości obrabianego przedmiotu. Cechą charakterystyczną obróbek ściernych jest równoczesne oddziaływanie dużej liczby ostrzy ziaren ściernych na obrabianą powierzchnię. Ostrza ścierne mają różne wymiary, kształt i są rozmieszczne przypadkowo na czynnej powierzchni ściernicy (CPS). W procesie obróbki ściernej występują różne procesy fizyczne. Do głównych z nich należą: mikroskrawanie, odkształcanie plastyczne i tarcie [5]. Jednocześnie ziarna ścierne były bardziej obciążone i wykorzystane podczas skrawania.
Za pomocą szlifowania wibracyjnego przeprowadzonego przy wybranych parametrach wprowadzonych drgań otrzymano poprawę stanu powierzchni obrabianej w postaci zmniejszenia falistości.SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: szlifowanie wibracyjne płaszczyzn, badania eksperymentalne, stolik wibracyjny, chropowatość i falistość powierzchniThe article presents the results of experimental studies on the impact of vibration assisted flat grinding process on the reduction of the selected parameters of state of the surface. Tests were conducted for two different workpiece materials and using two different types of grinding wheels. Vibration assisted flat grinding performed with selected vibration parameters proved to be beneficiary for obtaining better state of plane surface with lower waviness. Jednym z takich procesów jest szlifowanie wibracyjne, w którym do kinematyki konwencjonalnego szlifowania dołożono dodatkowy ruch oscylacyjny o określonej częstotliwości i amplitudzie. Zmniejszają ryzyko powstawania siatki mikropęknięć i przypaleń poprzez zmniejszenie odkształceń cieplnych szlifowanej powierzchni [12].Duże możliwości podwyższenia jakości wytwarzanych wyrobów daje odpowiednie ukształtowanie dynamiki procesu skrawania. Oznacza to taki wybór parametrów charakteryzujących proces obróbki by zapewniona była odpowiednia jakość i dokładność wymiarowa obrabianej powierzchni pomimo występujących niekorzystnych zjawisk dynamicznych. P...
