Essential tremor is one of the most common diseases of the nervous system. But despite this, to this day, this pathology has not been studied at all. In recent years, with the conduct of various studies of patients with this pathology, the development of new technologies, more and more data on certain mechanisms of the disease began to appear. Many scientists have come to the conclusion that the nature of essential tremor is heterogeneous. This explains the diversity of the clinical picture, which includes the presence of not only motor signs (ataxia, tandem gait disturbance), but also non-motor ones (depression, anxiety, apathy, hearing impairment, smell, etc.).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
