Computer vision is one of the hottest research fields in deep learning. The emergence of generative adversarial networks (GANs) provides a new method and model for computer vision. The idea of GANs using the game training method is superior to traditional machine learning algorithms in terms of feature learning and image generation. GANs are widely used not only in image generation and style transfer but also in the text, voice, video processing, and other fields. However, there are still some problems with GANs, such as model collapse and uncontrollable training. This paper deeply reviews the theoretical basis of GANs and surveys some recently developed GAN models, in comparison with traditional GAN models. The applications of GANs in computer vision include data enhancement, domain transfer, high-quality sample generation, and image restoration. The latest research progress of GANs in artificial intelligence (AI) based security attack and defense is introduced. The future development of GANs in computer vision is also discussed at the end of the paper with possible applications of AI in computer vision.
Due to the influence of wind speed disturbance, there are some uncertain phenomena in the parameters of the nonlinear wind turbine model with time in an actual working environment. In order to mitigate the side effects of uncertainties in speed models of wind turbines, researchers have designed a variety of controllers in recent years. However, traditional control methods require more knowledge of dynamics. Therefore, based on reinforcement learning and system state data, a robust wind turbine controller that adopts adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) is proposed. The ADP algorithm is a combination of Temporal-Difference (TD) algorithm and actor-critic structure, which can guarantee the rotor speed is stable around the rated value to indirectly adjust the wind energy utilization coefficient by changing the pitch angle in the area of high wind speed and achieve online learning in real-time. In addition, the variation of the pitch angle command of the proposed controller is relatively gradual, which can reduce the energy consumption of the variable pitch actuator, and extend the service life of the equipment. Finally, the wind speed model is simulated by combined wind speed based on Weibull distribution, the comprehensive simulation results show that the proposed controller has better control effect than some existing ones. This paper considers the problems of target tracking and obstacle avoidance for multi-agent systems. To solve the problem that multiple agents cannot effectively track the target while avoiding obstacle in dynamic environment, a novel control algorithm based on potential function and behavior rules is proposed. Meanwhile, the interactions among agents are also considered. According to the state whether an agent is within the area of its neighbors influence, two kinds of potential functions are presented. Meanwhile, the distributed control input of each agent is determined by relative velocities as well as relative positions among agents, target and obstacle. The maximum linear speed of the agents is also discussed. Finally, simulation studies are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
The intelligent wireless sensor network is a distributed network system with high “network awareness”. Each intelligent node (agent) is connected by the topology within the neighborhood which not only can perceive the surrounding environment, but can adjusts its own behavior according to its local perception information to constructs a distributed learning algorithms. Therefore, three basic intelligent network topologies of centralized, non-cooperative, and cooperative are intensively investigated in this paper. The main contributions of the paper include two aspects. First, based on algebraic graph, three basic theoretical frameworks for distributed learning and distributed parameter estimation of cooperative strategy are surveyed: increment strategy, consensus strategy, and diffusion strategy. Second, based on classical adaptive learning algorithm and online updating law, the implementation process of distributed estimation algorithm and the latest research progress of above three distributed strategies are investigated.
