The short-lived radicals generated in 7-irradiated aqueous solutions of either L-proline (I) or trans-4hydroxy-L-proline (II) were investigated by spin trapping with 2-methyl-2-nitrosopropane and subsequently by high-performance liquid chromatography combined with ESR spectroscopy. Four ESR spectra of the spin adducts could be obtained from I and two from II, which were separated individually. The stability differences between these spin adducts are discussed in relation to the structures of the adducts.Co. Ltd. for supplying the high-performance liquid chromatograph, HLC-803, and the cation exchanging column, IEX-210SC.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
