Title: Online addiction behaviors and cyberbullying among adolescents. This study analyses the use of mobile phones and computers in a sample of adolescents, their online addiction behaviours, and bullying and cyberbullying experiences considering the influence of gender and school level. Parental control during Internet use is also considered. Results show an average of 1-2 hours daily use of mobile phone and computers. Around 13% of students report online addictions behaviors and 32% are in risk of, with differences by gender and school level. Results indicate more involvement in traditional bullying (12%) than in cyberbullying (7.7%), and a significant association between both behaviors and technologies use. AbstractThis study analyzes the relation among bullying, some family and school context variables, and parenting styles, and investigates the differences by role in bullying. The sample was composed by 847 pupils (450 male and 397 female) from 9 to 18 years old (M = 12.73; SD = 2.338), from Primary (426) and Secondary (421) schools, from 38 intact groups of 5 schools randomly selected from different Spanish Regions. Results show that those involved in bullying are more rejected, and victims are the most rejected and have lower relationships among pupils. Family context is positively scored. The authoritative parental style is the most frequent. Not involved pupils perceive an indulgent style more frequently than involved ones; bullies perceive more negligent and victims more authoritarian or authoritative. The unsteadiness on parental styles between both parents plus been rejected by peers is pointed out as victimization support.
Title: Social and health risk behaviours in adolescents. Context intervention proposal for a bullying case. Abstract: Social and personal risk behaviours are extending behaviours among adolescents. Drugs abuse and problems in family and school relationships stand out among these behaviours, where bullying is detected, every time more, as a social dysfunction. This paper presents (1) the analysis of some social and personal well being risk behaviour among adolescents (N=1239) secondary school pupils, (612 boys and 627 girls) and (2) a context intervention proposal for a classgroup (n=27), where bullying were detected performed by 2 bullies, 2 victims and 1 provoke-victim pupils. Findings point out that, more than one in four pupils shows social and health risk behaviour, such as drugs abuse or drive under alcoholics' effects. We did not find differences in drugs consume between boys and girls but boys score higher in other risk behaviours. We also observed high relations among risk behaviours, scholar failure and bullying. Analysis for the intact group-class revealed that bully pupils present a high level of scholar failure and perpetrate other delinquent actions and they find support in their friends and family. The intervention proposal for this group is oriented not only for those pupils involved in bullying, but also for all educative agents.
