In Fortsetzung der schon in früheren Heften dieser Zeitschrift veröffentlichten Berichte legen die Verf. Ergebnisse vor, die mit Al‐Werkstoffen, speziell Reinaluminium, AlMg 5, AlZnMgCu 1,5 und AlCuMg 2 erhalten wurden. Als angreifende Medien dienten Natriumchloridlösungen und künstliches Meerwasser. Die Potentialverschiebung ist ziemlich gering, selbst unter mäßiger Kavitationsbeanspruchung; nur bei ziemlich hohen Beschleunigungen – 65000 g und darüber ‐ kann die Potentialverschiebung −500 mV übersteigen. Die kupferhaltigen Legierungen sind in dieser Hinsicht eine Ausnahme, denn ihr Potential ist im Bereich der verwendeten Intensitäten in belüfteter Natriumchlorid‐lösung konstant. In den Fällen, in denen die Schutzschicht zerstört und das Potential nach negativeren Werten verschoben wird, muß zusätzlich zur Erosionskorrosion auch beschleunigte allgemeine Korrosion berücksichtigt werden.
Werden Flüssigkeiten in metallischen Bauteilen bewegt oder umgekehrt solche Bauteile in Flüssigkeiten, so können dabei sehr unterschiedliche Oberflächenbeanspruchung des Werkstoffes auftreten. Sie können mechanischer oder korrosiver Natur oder beides sein. Neben der Beschaffenheit der Flüssigkeit wird dies von den dabei zur Wirkung kommenden Kräften abhängen. Als Maß für diese wird die Beschleunigung gewählt mit einem Bereich von Null bis 100 000 g bei Wechselschwingung zylindrischer Proben in Flüssigkeiten, die bekanntlich der Schwingungskavitation zugrunde liegt. Der Geräteaufwand, vor allem bei den Schwinggeräten, erwies sich dabei als schwieriger und umfangreicher als zuerst vorauszusehen war. Es war deshalb eine Reihe versuchstechnischer Voraussetzungen zu schaffen, über die als erstes hier berichtet wird. Diesem Bericht werden dann weitere über Versuchsergebnisse mit Kupfer‐, Titan‐, Aluminium‐ und Eisen‐Werkstoffen in der angegebenen Reihenfolge folgen.
Vier Werkstoffe – Reineisen, niedriglegierter Stahl, 13% Cr‐Stahl und CrNi‐Stahl 18 9 – wurden in 1 n NaCl‐Lösung und in künstlichem Meerwasser untersucht, wobei der Sauerstoffgehalt zwischen gesättigt und Null verändert wurde. Die Änderungen des Elektrodenpotentials ermöglichen Schlüsse bezüglich des Kavitationseinflusses. Reineisen und niedriglegierter Stahl sind unter den Versuchsbedingungen in aktivem Zustand; Schwingungen bis 20000 g führen zu einer Potentialverschiebung nach positiverer Richtung. Bei noch höheren Schwingungsbelastungen kommt es zu einer Verschiebung in entgegengesetzter Richtung (zurückzuführen auf Entgasung der Lösung). Der CrNi‐Stahl befindet sich im Passivzustand, doch die Art der Potentialverschiebung ist etwa die gleiche. An der Grenzfläche zur Flüssigkeit kommt es jedoch zu Martensitbildung. Der Chromstahl nimmt eine Zwischenstellung ein und ist in der NaCl‐Lösung aktiv, im Meerwasser hingegen passiv. Die Potentialverschiebung nach negativeren Werten, die bei allen untersuchten Werkstoffen im sauerstoffreien Elektrolyten bei hohen Beschleunigungen beobachtet wird, läßt sich einer Erleichterung der anodischen Teilreaktion zuschreiben.
