Ziel der vorliegenden Studie war es, den Zusammenhang zwischen Lerndefiziten und Verhaltensproblemen nachzuweisen und näher zu untersuchen. Aus einer Ausgangsstichprobe von N = 929 Kindern wurde zu Beginn der zweiten Jahrgangsstufe eine Zielstichprobe von N = 94 Kindern identifiziert, die eine Lese-/Rechtschreibschwäche (LRS), eine Rechenschwäche (RS), eine kombinierte Schwäche (KOM) oder keine Schwäche (KG) aufwiesen. Diese Kinder wurden bis zur Mitte der vierten Jahrgangsstufe längsschnittlich untersucht. Verhaltensprobleme wurden über das Elternurteil (CBCL) zu Beginn der vierten Klasse erfasst. Bei Kindern mit einer Lernschwäche zeigten sich mehr Verhaltensprobleme als in der KG. In der Art der Verhaltensprobleme konnten keine Unterschiede zwischen den Gruppen LRS und RS gefunden werden. Es ergaben sich Hinweise auf vermehrte Verhaltensprobleme bei erhöhter Intensität der Lernschwäche durch die Kombination an Defiziten sowie eine überdauernde Beeinträchtigung. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen, dass eine Berücksichtigung kombinierter Lerndefizite sowie eine umfassende Diagnostik, die Verhaltensprobleme mit einschließt, bereits im Grundschulalter von Bedeutung sind.
Während zahlreiche Untersuchungen der letzten Jahrzehnte die Bedeutung von individuellen Unterschieden im Bereich der Intelligenz und der sozialen Schichtzugehörigkeit wie auch des Geschlechts für die schulische Leistungsentwicklung in unterschiedlichen Inhaltsbereichen dokumentiert haben, fehlt es immer noch an Studien im Grundschulbereich, die den Anteil des Migrationshintergrunds (MH) an diesen Unterschieden genauer erfassen. Die vorliegende Längsschnittstudie mit mehr als 500 unterfränkischen Grundschulkindern ging dieser Frage insofern nach, als der spezifische Einfluss des MH auf die Entwicklung in den Bereichen Lesen, Rechtschreiben und Mathematik genauer untersucht wurde. Während die Relevanz von IQ, Schichtzugehörigkeit und Geschlecht für die Leistungsentwicklung in diesen Bereichen bestätigt werden konnte, fanden sich nur wenige Anhaltspunkte dafür, dass der MH zusätzlich eine bedeutsame Rolle spielte. Eine im Vergleich zum Bundesdurchschnitt geringere Migrationsquote in der Stichprobe und die systematische Vorschulförderung in der Region Unterfranken werden als mögliche Einflussfaktoren für diesen abweichenden Befund diskutiert.
