El análisis de la precisión del Sistema de Posicionamiento Global (GPS) frente al sistema de posicionamiento hibrido entre GPS y el Sistema de Navegación Inercial (INS) permite determinar cual de ellos ofrece mayor exactitud en el seguimiento de una trayectoria establecida ejecutada por un vehículo autónomo terrestre diseñado e implementado el cual consiste en incorporar al vehículo un Módulo GPS, sensores inerciales y la tarjeta controladora Pixhawk que usa el filtro de Kalman como método de acoplamiento entre las arquitecturas GPS e INS, además de un sistema de telemetría para la transmisión de datos y una decodificadora para el mando a distancia. Los escenarios de pruebas consisten de dos trayectorias ejecutadas a las 12:00 y 20:00 debido a las condiciones atmosféricas presentes en distintas horas del día. Se confirma que el sistema GPS/INS tuvo una precisión mayor al GPS de hasta un 73.6% en promediode los dos escenarios durante el día, mientras que en la noche incrementa la precisión de hasta 17.5%, lo que significa que el sistema implementado tiene como función la corrección de errores producidos debido a la ionización de la ionosfera siendo el principal factor de atenuación de la señal de GPS en el canal de comunicación.
