Ein Problem der reproduktionsmedizinischen Behandlung stellt die erhöhte Mehrlingsrate dar. Dem IVF-Register (DIR) ist zu entnehmen, dass es 1999 nach Sterilitätstherapie in 74 % der Fälle zu Einlings-, in 22% zu Zwillings-und in 4 % zu Drillingsgeburten kam. Die Inzidenz liegt deutlich über der Häufigkeit von Mehrlingen nach Spontankonzeption. Entsprechend der HELLIN-Hypothese ist von einer Häufigkeit von n: 1 : 85 für Zwillinge (1,18 %) und für Drillinge von einer Häufigkeit von n 2 : 1 : 85 2 (1 : 7225 entspricht = 0,013 %) auszugehen. Aufgrund der erhöhten Mehrlingsgeburtsrate ergeben sich Risiken im Hinblick auf die körperliche und psychosoziale Entwicklung der Kinder. Der Übergang zur Elternschaft und Familie stellt hohe Anforderungen an die Adaptationsleistungen. Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist, die Familienstruktur nach Geburt eines Einlings im Vergleich zu einer Mehrlingsgeburt darzustellen. Material und Methode: N = 55 Mütter und 51 Väter wurden ein Jahr nach der Geburt ihres Kindes/ihrer Kinder gebeten, die Familienbogen auszufüllen. Die Familienbogen sind ein Inventar zur Einschätzung der Familienfunktionen. Ausgehend von einer theoretischen Konzeption des Familienmodells beschreiben Familienbogen das aktionale Verhalten in sieben Skalen: Aufgabenerfüllung, Rollenverhalten, Kommunikation, Emotionalität, Affektive Beziehungsaufnahme, Kontrolle, Werte und Normen. Profile der Eltern werden vergleichend dargestellt und Diskrepanzen der Einlings-und Mehrlingseltern aufgezeigt.
