An optical system consisting of optical fibers and photodiodes arranged in four detection directions and in two planes perpendicular to the jet axis is used for the diagnostics of a thermal plasma jet where the application of one-directional observation is insufficient due to a strong disturbance of cylindrical symmetry. The experimental data are processed using the inverse Radon transform where the number of input profiles is extended by means of interpolation. The results show that the method application can bring new findings, e.g., in detection of coherent structures or evaluations of velocity distributions in thermal plasma jet under turbulent conditions.

The authors consider the linear space-inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation in the full space R with external electromagnetic force. First, existence and uniqueness results about mild L-solutions are presented for soft and hard interactions, together with global boundedness in time for higher moments in the hard interaction case. Then, in the case of spatially homogeneous forces, mild L TM N LP;q-solutions, =< p, q -< , are constructed by an iteration procedure using an a priori estimate given by the corresponding homogeneous solution. Furthermore, some results about L p-solutions are presented for space-inhomogeneous forces.
A method for solution of Abel integral equation describing the radial distribution of radiation intensity in plasma jets is presented. It is based upon a polynomial approximation of the measured side-on radiation profile. An application of Abel inversion then leads to an analytic expression for the relevant approximation of the radial distribution.PACS : 52.75.Hn
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
