Connaissiez-vous le courant transhumaniste avant de vous lancer dans la rédaction de votre premier roman, Un dissident, publié chez Albin Michel en 2017 ? Pourquoi avez-vous fait ce choix thématique du transhumanisme au lieu de rédiger, par exemple, un roman historique plus traditionnel ?François-Régis de Guenyveau : Dans le cahier de l'Herne consacré à Houellebecq, Aurélien Bellanger écrit : « Aucune oeuvre littéraire ne peut plus nous convaincre de rien si elle ignore la science 1 . » On pourrait ajouter plus globalement qu'aucune oeuvre littéraire ne peut plus nous convaincre de rien si elle occulte les mutations du système économique, politique et social, dans la mesure où c'est le système qui dévoile notre vision du monde, notre culture. D'emblée, le marché du transhumanisme m'a semblé remplir cette mission de grand révélateur. Il faut ajouter qu'il s'agit d'un sujet éminemment romanesque. De fait, peu de mouvements intellectuels sont capables de susciter un tel déchaînement des passions. Peu, de surcroît, sont si ambivalents, si poreux, si propices au brouillage du réel, au jeu permanent entre faits et fiction. Ne dit-on pas d'ailleurs que le terme même de « transhumanisme » doit sa notoriété à Julian Huxley, le frère d'Aldous Huxley, et à cette famille hors-norme où pendant des générations la science n'a jamais cessé de flirter avec les arts ? En général, je passe beaucoup de temps à flâner sur Internet. J'aime « sentir » le monde : colloques en ligne, articles de la presse scientifique, réaction des internautes sur les réseaux sociaux, actualités, théories du complot, fake news… Ce qui m'intéresse, ce n'est pas tant la véracité d'un fait que son ambiguïté et l'emballement qu'il provoque.
