‘BRS Tainá’ is a new seedless table grape cultivar developed and recommended for the Submedium of São Francisco Valley, the main producing and exporting region of table grapes in Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of rootstock on vigor, bud fertility, sucrose and total soluble carbohydrates content in leaves of ‘BRS Tainá’ vine cultivated in semi-arid environmental conditions in the Brazilian Northeast. The treatments were represented by eight rootstocks: ‘101-14 MgT’, ‘IAC 313’, ‘IAC 572’, ‘IAC 766’, ‘Paulsen 1103’, ‘Ramsey’, ‘SO4’ and ‘Teleki 5C’. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with four replications, in split plots, the production cycles were considered as plots, and eight rootstocks as subplots. The following variables were evaluated: pruning weight, stem diameter, number of lateral bunches, bud fertility, sucrose and total soluble carbohydrates content in leaves. The ‘BRS Tainá’ vine had moderate canopy vigor and 54% of bud fertility. The carbohydrate content and sucrose in the leaves did not differ among treatments during pruning. Therefore, it is possible that there is no effect of the rootstock on the initial vegetative growth of ‘BRS Tainá’ vines, which vigor and bud fertility remained stable in the initial production cycles.
Introdução: As plantas dioicas são caracterizadas pelo dimorfismo sexual tanto nas características sexuais (órgãos reprodutivos) flores estaminadas, pistiladas, como nas suas características sexuais secundárias, como diferenças entre tamanho e recursos atrativos geralmente associadas ao custo/sucesso de reprodução. Objetivo: Esta revisão bibliográfica acerca da temática melhoramento e exploração de plantas dioicas. Material e métodos: A revisão foi elaborada por meio da consulta em trabalhos nas plataformas indexadoras de artigos e outros trabalhos científicos Google Acadêmico, Portal de Periódicos da Capes e SciElO indexados com alto fator de impacto. Resultados: O melhoramento genético das plantas é beneficiado pelo cruzamento, favorecendo a manutenção da alta heterozigosidade, todavia como a base genética da dioicia apesar dos avanços ainda não é totalmente clara. A exploração dos avanços teóricos aplicados no melhoramento genético das plantas dioicas vem contribuindo para resolução de problemas práticos no desenvolvimento de novas cultivares em culturas agrícolas dioicas exemplo espinafre, aspargos, lúpulo, cannabis, kiwis, pistache tamareiras, mamão e figo. Além de existir um significativo de número de espécies silvestres com potencial farmacológico e florestal. Portanto a compreensão das bases genéticas das plantas dioicas contribui para exploração e o desenvolvimento de programas de melhoramento genético de plantas dioicas impulsionadas pelo maior entendimento dos mecanismos envolvidos no surgimento e manutenção da dioica em plantas nos últimos anos, possibilitaram uma melhor compressão em termos teóricos/práticos dessas características inerentes a separação sexual das plantas. E fornecem uma fonte rica de novos genes para a exploração e manipulação da reprodução e adaptação ambiental nas plantas dioicas. Conclusão: É necessário maiores estudos dos genomas de plantas dioicas e aplicações no melhoramento genético principalmente para espécies em processo de domesticação afim definir quais os mecanismos bioquímicos, fisiológicos e moleculares e evolutivos estão envolvidos e sua aplicação no melhoramento ou domesticação das plantas.
