O referente trabalho busca analisar a necessidade humana em ser reconhecido e como se busca esse caminho de “existência” e os efeitos disso na constituição do sujeito. Para tanto, tomamos como corpus de análises alguns recortes do mangá Naruto, de Masashi Kishimoto. O referido mangá trata do personagem homônimo que possui no seu interior o demônio “Raposa de Nove Caudas”, responsável pela destruição da vila e que essa “Raposa de Nove Caudas” fora introduzida em Naruto como uma espécie de pacto do pai do personagem, o qual conseguiu salvar a vila do ataque do ser maléfico que habita o corpo de Naruto. O aparato teórico que sustenta nosso estudo ampara-se em autores como Estés (1999), Cyrulnik (2013) e Comte-Spoville (2007). Metodologicamente falando, trata-se de um estudo descritivo-interpretativo de natureza qualitativa. As análises dos recortes de Naruto permitem-nos evidenciar que na saga interpenetram uma série de questões que envolvem a busca por reconhecimento, a incompletude constitutiva do sujeito num processo contínuo de construção de si e do outro. Esses (des)caminhos levam-nos a pensar na configuração da existência mimetizada nos mangás como um dispositivo importante dos fluxos comunicacionais da contemporaneidade.
