O processo de formação do estado e da nação brasileira operou de modo intencional e sistemático o apagamento das diferenças étnicas e culturais de sua população, inventando tradições de brasilidade e a ficção de um povo único, “o povo brasileiro”, homogêneo em sua identidade e cultura.
Neste artigo, é apresentada uma reflexão sobre a pesquisa acadêmica a respeito do saber agrícola dos povos indígenas e o papel de destaque da cultura da mandioca na formação do Brasil e na consolidação do império português, servindo como uma peça de encaixe nas transações mercantilistas no Atlântico Sul. Busca-se evidenciar a visibilidade da mandioca nesse contexto, considerando o reconhecimento da diversidade epistêmica e as especificidades das relações dos povos indígenas no que se refere à natureza e ao arbítrio das construções historiográficas pautadas em uma pretensa universalidade do pensamento europeu, utilizada para legitimar o colonialismo.
Este artigo resulta de uma pesquisa documental em um Terreiro de Candomblé. Teve o objetivo de analisar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem realizado na Escola de Arte Escultural do Terreiro para compreender as interfaces dessas práticas com a Educação Profissional e Tecnológica tendo o trabalho como princípio educativo. Pesquisou-se a história do Terreiro e o trabalho para a produção do artesanato. Essa perspectiva de trabalho permeia a formação e profissionalização dos/as filhos/as de santo e da comunidade do entorno. Foram analisados documentos institucionais, livros, artigos e filme, que abordam a produção do artesanato na casa religiosa. Nesses documentos estão registrados aspectos tanto do modo de vida quanto da procura por colocação trabalhista das pessoas que frequentam o Terreiro.
A intenção deste texto é demonstrar o protagonismo do Projeto Político-Pedagógico Irê Ayó, desenvolvido na Escola Municipal Eugênia Anna dos Santos, na construção de uma escola afrocentrada e desenvolvida em espaço de terreiro de candomblé, bem como analisar os aspectos que relacionam esta escola com a educação profissional e tecnológica. Discorremos neste trabalho sobre as implicações do processo histórico do escravismo na subsequente construção do racismo no Brasil pós-abolição, incluindo o racismo religioso. Esse processo é analisado por meio do estudo histórico das condições da vida da população negra e ao acesso desta à educação. Por fim, analisamos o PPP Irê Ayó, verificando os aspectos do documento, da escola e do terreiro que se relacionam a uma educação para a formação integral.
