O atual momento de pandemia da COVID-19 tem provocado diversas interferências no mundo do trabalho, indo desde a paralização de inúmeros atividades laborativas até mesmo a precarização das condições de segurança e saúde, causando acidentes e doenças nos trabalhadores. Desde dezembro de 2019 que o mundo sofre impactos da COVID-19, com diversas modificações na sociedade, não sendo diferente para o Direito do Trabalho. A atuação da Comissão Interna de Prevenção de Acidentes (CIPA), na prevenção da COVID-19 e os riscos a saúde e segurança do trabalhador é de suma importância para que os ambientes de trabalhos se apresentem seguros e sadios. A pesquisa discute aspectos legais para a atuação da CIPA na prevenção de acidentes e doenças do trabalho, bem como a prevenção da COVID-19 no âmbito dos ambientes de trabalho. Fazendo uso de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, amparada na análise das normas de segurança e saúde do trabalho, com o uso do método dedutivo, aborda aspectos legais da atuação da CIPA, como difusora de medidas prevencionistas nos espaços laborais. Existe amparo legal para que a CIPA, implemente suas atribuições e seu programa de trabalho de modo a prevenir os acidentes e doenças do trabalho e consequentemente proporcionar resultados proveitosos para empresa, para o trabalhador e sociedade em geral. Conclui-se o presente estudo indicando que mais investigações sobre o tema devem ter seguimento, afim de aclarar ainda mais as referidas abordagens.
